DYNAMIC MOVEMENT ACT
This dynamic movement act, is performed by Jaakko Tenhunen, it's titled 'Crippled' and is a self-portrait created through physical performance, combining handbalancing and chinese pole techniques with dynamic movement material. Crippled is a headspace, a space where fatigue, pain and frustration are used as sources of energy. A space where illusions of grandeur are relished and given room to grow. The movement material itself has an uncompromising, unapologetic and at times, a furious quality. Every movement is fuelled by emotion and backed up by equal amount of commitment. Deep basses and distorted beats created live through old analog equipment, support the intense physicality further. The first three performances were done in the top room of an old, partly derelict Victorian building turned art-studio. 'Crippled' will always be adapted to the space it is performed in and therefore remains a site-specific performance, regardless of the location. This act is fantastic and will certainly wow your audience. To see Jaakko perform click here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI-5i5Dm1C4
THE NINTH GATE
The Ninth Gate are a fantastic cover band from Abercarn, South Wales. They have a real blues and rock influence, a fun lovin', hair flickin', head bangin' mix of old and new tunes that give the dancing shoes and vocal chords a pounding! This band is great for Weddings and corporate entertainment.
TOP SHELF JAZZ
Prohibition jazz played as it should be: Fast and Louche! That's right, dear reader! Top Shelf Jazz restore the era of the monocle, correspondent shoes and PG Wodehouse; followed by a wild romp in the back house with the boys. A heady mix of crooning melodies, filthy swing and rakish banter served up with an exhilarating cocktail of kazoo solos, anarchist misconduct and safari suits. Hailing from Wales, and now inciting bedlam in London and Europe, the band have left their mark on many a venue (and not a few swooning ladies!) with their delicious Art Decodence! Imagine, if you dare, a tea party laced with bootleg gin and wild abandon! Lock up your liquor and put your dance shoes on - it's Top Shelf Jazz!
