BBC Food and Farming Awards

BBC Food and Farming Awards

The Event
The BBC Food & Farming Awards celebrate the people and organisations making a positive impact on the UK’s food landscape. Launched in 2000 to mark the 20th anniversary of Radio 4’s The Food Programme, the awards honour those who champion good food, sustainable farming, and community initiatives. Categories span producers, retailers, educators, and innovators, with winners selected from public nominations.
The awards shine a spotlight on unsung heroes—from school cooks to artisan growers—whose work improves how Britain eats and farms. The ceremony is broadcast nationally and features judges from across the food, farming, and media industries.
Our Role...
Production 78 delivered full staging and technical production for the BBC Food & Farming Awards in 2022 at the National Museum Wales, 2023 at ICC Wales and 2025 at the M Shed in Bristol . Our creative team designed a bespoke set that reflected the event’s rural and celebratory theme, including a stone-effect back wall, wood-effect vinyl flooring, jute rugs, and market stall structures with fresh produce and vintage props. Large botanical planters and corrugated iron facias added depth and authenticity to the space.
Technically, we provided AV playback systems, lighting, and sound, including a floor lighting package, wireless microphones, QLab playback, and 4K cameras for archive recording.
Our team managed all aspects of delivery, from pre-production and design to onsite installation and crew coordination. We supplied a full technical team including AV, sound, and lighting technicians, along with a production manager and transport logistics. The result was a warm, immersive environment that celebrated the best of British food and farming.

Thank you so much for everything yesterday, the set looked gorgeous, and everything ran really smoothly.
It was great working with you all – thanks for helping us put everything together (even with a few of those last-minute requests!)
The show was out on Morning Live this morning and will be on Countryfile at the weekend so watch out for it!
