The Event
VIP Hospitality and Events Pavilion within the Volvo Ocean Race Stopover Village in Cardiff Bay.
Since 1973, the Volvo Ocean Race has provided the ultimate test of a team and a human adventure like no other. Over four decades it has kept an almost mythical hold over some of the greatest ever sailors – and the 2017-18 edition took the teams 45,000 nautical miles around the world, across four oceans, touching six continents and 12 landmark Host Cities including Cardiff.
Our Role...
Production 78, working for a number of major clients and stakeholders, designed and installed a full turnkey marquee, dressing, furniture, temporary power, internet and technical AV packages.
Production 78 Event Staff hosted a number of VIP hospitality events, a Climate Change Summit attended virtually by HRH the Prince of Wales and managed the venue during the 2018 visit of the Volvo ocean round the world yacht race. In line with the Volvo Ocean Race sustainability values Production 78 provided zero single-use plastics and used as many sustainable products as possible throughout the event process.
