The Event
Annual Sporting Awards Celebration recognising the very best in grassroots and elite sport from across the whole of Wales.
Our Role...
Production 78 delivered this event first in 2016 at BBC Hoddinnott Hall where we installed all technical lighting and sound, ran stage management of the event and liaised with the venue management to deliver it on the night.
Working closely with Sport Wales and BBC Cymru Wales, prior to the event, Production 78 covers every element including printing invites, creating the stage design and playing a large part in the venue liaison.
On the evening of the 2016 awards guests were greeted with sky tracker lighting, rope and post, red carpet and printed press backdrop. This followed through to two drinks reception areas for guests and VIPs alike. The main awards saw a combination of technical and stage management support, encompassing lighting, sound and on-stage AV working closely with the BBC Broadcasting team to ensure rehearsals and the event ran smoothly.
Following the awards, guests retired to the Awen bar in the Wales Millennium Centre for a post-ceremony drinks reception with live music entertainment and refreshments for all to enjoy.
Thanks so much to you and all the team for the work on this years’ Wales Sport Awards. Feedback has been great from all involved. Everyone has commented on how the look and feel for guests from the moment they arrived on the red carpet, right through to the design and use of lighting in the main hall, and the mix zone and lighting in the Awen Bar gave the event a real sense of style, lifting it up a few notches on previous years, making it an event you were proud to attend.
