Event Description
A brand new series of events from Business Wales supporting the Foundational Economy in Wales.
Held in Swansea Arena and Venue Cymru in Llandudno, these revolutionary, free to attend, Business Wales Expo's gave attendees a unique opportunity to engage in one-on-one, face-to-face meetings with Wales’ leading organisations actively looking to enhance their local supply chains.
With a focus on key foundational economy sectors like food, social care, construction, housing, retail, and transport decarbonisation, including many opportunities for SME's that supply and cater for these sectors.
Production 78 Role
Production 78 provided a complete Event Management service to Business Wales allowing them to focus on the development of this strategy to grow the Foundational Economy across Wales.
We built a new secure data web platform to register both Exhibitors and Attendees. Exhibitors were mainly public sector buyers and large buyers from the Private Sector working on Public Sector contracts. Attendees were SME's and key supply chain individuals.
Production 78 delivered events in both South and North Wales designing and building Keynote Stage Sets, Seminar Rooms, and Exhibition Shell Scheme for over 90 Exhibitors. Our Technical Tream operated all Stages and Seminars and installed Shell Scheme and Power. We provided Large Format Printing of Stage Sets and Event Branding as well as a custom Exhibition Stand for Business Wales.
We designed and ran Video Content on all event screens throughout the venues and captured video of Attendees and speakers at the event.
We also provided key analysis of the data including scans made and transferred at the event to highlight the number of interactions between buyers and attendees. This was provided to Business Wales to allow them to assess the success of the event format.
I can't recommend the Production 78 team highly enough for their role in bringing the Expo to life.
Having never managed an event of this scale before, working with Stephen, Karly, and the entire team was incredibly reassuring. Their vast experience and attention to detail were evident at every step. They helped us design a bespoke digital platform and data-sharing system, collaborated on the event's overall look, feel, and floor plan, and ensured seamless technical support on the day.
Their professionalism and expertise were key to the event's success, and we look forward to partnering with them again for future events.

Business Wales Expo Event Data
Production 78 has been an integral part of this event from the very beginning in 2024. Having been able to influence the development of the event registration system, website and how the event was managed on the day, we were able to make it entirely paper free. From digital registration forms for both exhibitors and attendees, the secure and carbon free sharing of data is central to this Welsh Supply Chain Event. In 2024, 90 exhibitors advertised over £30bn of public sector funding, across over 600 pipelines at the event, to over 1000 Welsh SME businesses.
Highlights we experienced when gathering this data included:
Attendees – We anonymised the registration data for Attendees at this event to get real CO2 emissions data. Most attendees travelled by car but some will have used the train or public transport, so some assumption had to be made on this basis. As these were regional events we know that the Swansea Event generally did not attract many North Wales attendees. However, as the Llandudno event followed Swansea’s, there were actually a significant number of South Wales attendees at the North Wales event, who had not attended in Swansea.
Exhibitors – Like the Attendees, we were able to use real address data for our exhibitors at this event. Most of these travelled by car as they will have brought exhibition materials with them that would have been more difficult on public transport.
Venues – As in the World Harp Congress we had good data of venue sizes due to the fact that we had drawn detailed plans and layouts of the rooms in use, so this data is accurate.
