Duncan Thompson BA (Hons) and Stephen Burkitt-Harrington BA (Hons)
Directors – Production 78 Ltd
Both Duncan and Stephen met on the undergraduate Theatre Studies and Stage Management Course at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in the 1990s. On graduating they both enjoyed successful freelance careers working on many small and large-scale events across the world. They found themselves employed together on the Rugby World Cup opening and closing ceremonies in Cardiff in 1999. As the closing ceremony drew to an end they discovered there was a lack in Professional Production Companies for major events of this kind here in Wales, and so the idea of forming Production 78 was born.
Founded in Cardiff in 2001 the company has now grown to employ 14 full-time staff and hundreds of part-time and freelance roles each year. Production 78 delivers over 300 event days for over 100 clients every year on Awards Ceremonies, Festivals & Outdoor Events, Corporate Events, Conferences, Exhibitions & Tradeshows, Product & Press Launches, and Bespoke Events in their physical form, as well as Virtual & Hybrid Events.
Our event services include Turnkey Bespoke Creative Event Solutions, Event Management & Staffing, Technical & AV Equipment Hire, Video & Content Production, Licensing & Safety Consultancy, and Marketing & Print.
